I would like to add a catfish to my tank, that is peaceful, non-harmful to goldfish!!!! (mine are shubunkins so it wouldn't have to be a slow moving fish) and preferably will grow to around goldfish sized, or slightly smaller, at around the same amount of growth.
I was thinking of cory's but im worried as people have said as my goldfish grow, there's a risk they could get a cory stuck in their mouth. So i was wondering if there are any that grow big enough so that couldn't happen, but small enough to live with them happily, preferably with the goldfish being larger.
Ive tried looking on websites, but i can't find anything about compatible catfish with goldfish, or people who have tried this.
Any ideas???

I assume you do not want a suckermouth catfish like a bristlnose, rubber lip, etc etc etc. Unfortunetly, most other catfish are high carnivorous and get huge. Of course, as soon as I get a kiddy pool...or a 500 gallon tank for that matter, I am definetly getting a red tailed catfish.

i would recommend bristlenose catfish as they're harmless to GFs but u want the catfish to grow as big as ur shubunkins and bristlenoses only grows to 5 inches it might be a little small

I mean, if your looking at catfish catfish, YOU probably dont want suckermouths. Some of those are ok, I have a bristlenose in my tank and he holds his own aganst a comet a little bigger than him, about 4 inches. The other good choice is a rubberlip.
And then if you browse Aquabid you can find some good ones. As long as they dont look like commons and don't get too big they should be ok.

bristle noses and rubberlip, and commons are more commonly called plecos, but are in teh catfish family, i believe.
