I appologize if there is already a topic like this..
I know that the Commen Pleco and a Chinese Algea Eater do not mix with goldfish. Are there any other breed besides the Rubber Nose...because I cannot find them here anywhere. Does the Rubber Nose help a lot with algea? And what other compatable breed, if there are any, help clean the tank well?
Thanks ^^

many diffrent breeds are compatible like the Chaetostoma, Panaque, (prounounced PAHN-ah-KAY) Peckoltia, Ancistrus and many others

see them here at http://fish2u.com/wild-south-american-plecos.html

hope this helps (*note* most members of the Panaque family do not eat algae) I reccomend either the rubbernose, candy stripe, medusa, bristlenose, thomasi Etc. I'm no expert but these are highly reccomended

IMO, the very best compatible algae eater is the bristlenose (ancistrus). I have found them to keep a tank very clean ... so clean I have to regularly supplement their diets now biggrin.gif

Thank you! I'll take a look in the pet stores for those breeds...biggrin.gif

They are sometimes commonly called bristlenosed plecos, but they can be called bushynosed plecos, too. Also, if you don't find them in the stores, sometimes they can be ordered for you. That is what I had to do smile.gif

I've had good luck with bushynosed plecos.
