Hi all,

having some trouble tracking any betta food down in the uk at all

I know you guys recommend it but is there any reason why he shouldn't eat normal tropical food?

I'm giving him freeze dried and fresh blood worms at the minute and he's eating them like there's no tomorrow. I also have some brine shrimp and daphnia in for him.

So can i get away with not giving him the betta food

Also, what's the life span on these little guys

If you really just can't find it I don't see why normal tropical food would hurt. So long as you keep giving him over foods like you were saying, blood worms ect.
They live 3-5 years sometimes 7.

Mine just eat live foods with a pea here and there. If you have live/frozen foods I don't see why he couldn't have the tropical food as well, unless they are flakes, sometimes they don't take well to flakes.

just keep the diet really meaty... most tropical blends have to much vegi's in it for a betta....
