I have 2 silk plants in my tank - how often should I clean them? I notice lots of alge on them, but I think my goldie is eating it off - one minute its there and the next its not... I've had them about two months, and I've cleaned them once by rinsing them in hot water - is that the way to do it?

I have had mine in the tank for months (at least 6) and haven't needed to clean them. When I vaccume the gravel I'll go over the plants too in order to get any waste that has stuck to them.

If you do feel the need to clean them, if you just take some tank water and brush them with an old toothbrush, I have found that can really do the job biggrin.gif

its kinda up to you how often you clean them. if they look dirty to you, then clean um, otherwise, its not really necessary to clean them all the time.
