hi all
i've just setup up my new tank (about 65 litre) and got a MoZoo internal filter with capacity 800 litre/hour. is it better to put the filter near the top (so it can help aeration) or near the bottom (better filtration cos near the gravel maybe?). my tank is 60 cm deep.

cheers

Hi,

I don't think it really matters.

If you put it near the surface, it will collect floating poop more easily and perhaps help aeration if it has a venturi.

If you put it on the bottom, then it will collect the poop that sinks to the bottom a bit faster.

My internal power filter sits on the bottom. It has a venturi intake, but I don't use it.

Hope this is useful,

i believe it is better to keep it at the bottom. i have tried both ways, and the bottom collects more 'junk' smile.gif

I'd keep it at the top, personally, to oxygenate the water. If you have a bubble wall, you could then put it on the bottom.
