oo! yes, axies!! great little creatures.
well, they need bout 10gals each, cannot be kepy with goldies.
They like cold water aquariums with no lighting due to the fact that they are natural cave dwellers.
They can be fed on anything from tubifex to live wax worms. they also need to have some kinda de-chlorinator in there water, just to neutralise it. Stress coat etc can be used for this.

they cant be kept in tanks with gravel due to the fact that they will eat it, and no river stones either, so barebottom and sand is your only option. They can be put in with slate and stuff though.
axies can be kept with plants, as they wont generally go out of their way to eat it, but if it gets in their mouths, then they will!! lol!!
its the same with your fingers really, they will snap at them if you pt them in the tank, but they have no teeth, so its just kinda funy!! scary the first time though!!
Axies CANNOT tolerate salt of any kind, and medications for them are pretty hard to find!!
they can handle methelene blu though. theres a list around here somewhere, ill get it up in a mo.
Axies dont need to be kept in a tank with a lid on, as they cant come out of water anyway.

there have been a few VERY rare cases of axies morphing into land creatures, but i dont think there is much need to worry about that

axolotls should only be handled when necessary, such as when cleaning the tank.
They can be trapped with a shallow net and then gently grasped with one hand around their neck and shoulders and the other around their abdomen and hind legs. Do not squeeze them because they are easily damaged. They often thrash their tails around, which could damage them, so just watch out for that.
here is that list of meds:
1. Myxazin (Waterlife)
2."The Complete Remedy" only contains sodium chlorite.
3. Mercurochrome (used on wounds).
4. Nitrofura-G (Aquatronics).
5. Maracyn (Mardel Labs) - contains the antibiotic erythromycin.
6. "Sulfa-bath" (Tetra).
7. Methylene blue - non-toxic in low dosages.
8. Furan-2 (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals) - good all around anti-bacterial medication - highly recommended.
9. Melafix (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals) - effective against external sores.
10. Panacur - at low dosage levels - effective against internal parasites, specifically roundworms.
11. Flagyl, also known as metronidazole - Used at a lower dosage than for reptiles, it appears to be safe for use as an anti-parasitic treatment in food (inject it into a waxworm or other food).
hope this helps.
