This common goldfish seems to grow an inch a week,He is in a 10 gallon, and a good swimmer, and needs more room. I really can't afford to spend alot of money. Please tell me where I can buy a bigger tank cheap. andnot ebay. Thanks, zena

You could probably save a lot of money by just getting a plastic storage bin for now... I think you can get rather large ones for less than 10 bucks. If you shop around, you may even be able to find one that's clearish, so you can look in the side. (Be careful, though, as these ones tend to be a bit more brittle than the others for some reason.)

If your looking for a really cheap tank, try to newspaper or classifieds. Also, ive had much luck with craigslist.com its kinda like ebay, and its all local for your area. People post how much they want for something, and u email them about it, and if they have it, you mee them and pick it up. Ive bought a 40 gallon tank on there for less then $20 before, and sometimes people are even giving them away for free. I know someone on here got a a whole tank set up with the stand and everything for $80. It was a pretty good deal.

Good Luck! And hope you find a cheap tank! If worst comes to worst and you really want him to have something bigger, then buy a rubber maid, but really, I would save the money to buy a tank if possible. Just keep looking around at places that I suggested and what not, and you'll find a good deal!

Check the yahoo groups to see if they have a freecycle for your area. I got a 55 gallon with the stand, and 2 heaters for FREE! biggrin.gif Everything listed is free, no selling allowed. It is a great way to get free things you need, and to get rid of things you don't need anylonger. Also check classifieds like Big Red said to do. There are many ways to get a cheap tank. I don't think I have payed more than $10 (most were free) for any of my many tanks. Oh also look at yard sales, you can find really good deals there too. One more place, thrift stores sometimes carry things like that. Ok, I'm done. I think those are all of my ideas for now. biggrin.gif

Thanks to those who had suggestions for, this fish can't wait for a longer swimming area,so I couldn't find anything for free,so I saw on the Internet,Petco has a good deal on a tank that is 23'"x11"x20" for $140.00 0nline.So I guess i will get that one .It is acrilic and think those are better. No tape or glue. Thats a big improvement. Over glass aquariums. Tnaks, again.zena

That sounds expensive for a not so big tank. I think it would be about 21 gallons, but if you fill it an 1" from the top, it will go down to a 18gallon tank. Plus acrilic scratches really easily. In the end it is up to you, and what you want or like. Good luck. biggrin.gif
