I have had my little brigs for..oh, say about a month now. How fast do they grow? My magenta pair have a good 1/2 inch of beautiful new growth (much more healthy and colorful than the old part of their shells) but they don't grow near that fast, do they? But I could swear it wasn't their before!!
So how fast could a baby brig grow, in warmish 78-80 degree water with lots of healthy food, high PH, hard water, and added calcium and iodine?

It's amazing but they do grow pretty fast.especially when you're doing everything mentioned.Sounds like the new growth is looking perfect--you'll have to show us pics! Where did you get them from?Sorry if you mentioned it & I forgot.

Seriously? Wow. Although I am not supprised with how much they eat...they mow through peaches, cucumbers, snail food, whatever else happens to fall in there o.o;; I will take a new picture of them later when they are done with supper.

My brig Elemer is rather large aswell, but i've noticed that his shell isn't nice anymore. He lost his golden color, and his shell is cracked... Any good liquid Calcium or something i can do to help

calcium will help new growth look better, but old growth is old growth. maybe some nail polish could help it a bit.
i had a brig named Elmer once too!

Yup, old growth is hard to patch up. Like Smack said, keep adding lots of calcium and if it is really bothering you, you can paint over it with nail polish, either clear or coloured. And keep the pH level well above 7.0. I know, I'm probably repeating stuff you already know, sorry.

If deep holes start appearing in the spire you can patch it with Marine Epoxy putty. Here's Donya's supercool page on shell patching:

thanks, when you guys talk about Nail polish... is it just normal
nail polish? And if so... is it safe for the fish and plants?

Yup. I went to the store and bought clear nail polish. I use it too.. it's fun stuff.

You can buy coloured stuff if you want, but I like to keep the snail's natural colour.

It won't harm anything as long as you let it dry completely before you put the snail back in the tank. I bought quick-dry stuff so after I'm done painting I only have to wait 5-10 minutes.

Haha well my sister has black nail polish... but she still uses it so i was forced to use the Dark mettalic Purple. Elemer looks so flashy its funny.
Thanks for all the help, Eventually im going to paint the guy black with white dots all over hehehe
