I was looking at a recipe for gel food, and acidophilus was an optional ingredient. What is this and where do I buy it???

Acidophilus is a strain of bacteria that is beneficial to digestion. You can buy it at health food stores, chemists, supermarkets. It is included in some dairy products such as yoghurt.
The benefits of adding it to gelfood are questionable. Most people freeze their gelfood and that will destroy any live acidophilus.

I also freeze my gel food, so I guess there's no need to add it.

Not really since the coldness would kill it off
