Full Version: How Does Java Moss Grow?
Forum > The Goldfish Topics > Goldfish Tanks > Goldfish plants, & how to set up a planted tank

Does it grow on driftwood or rocks? Do they need something special?
Gold Ryu
They like attaching themselves to rocks and wood.Sometimes other things too.

Java moss is one of the easiest plants to grow and will attach itself to most anything in the tank. I even have it clinging to the gravel after it has outgrown its wood or rock base laugh.gif The best thing to do when you first get it, is to tie it with a bit of black thread to the driftwood or rock and it will attach itself in just a week or so. It doesn't have any special requirements and does well in most tanks.

Where can I get some? I've never seen any in petstores. Or do I have to order it online?
