I think I would like to really plant the 55. Petsmart has the cheapest Flourite, 20 lb. bags. How many of these would I need to cover the 55?

I'm thinking of putting a 1/4 inch layer of pebbles ontop of the Flourite so the goldies won't dig in it, will this create awkward gas buildup? huh.gif

Here is a page that I found for calculating how much flourite to buy:

I don't think it is necessary to put the rocks on top all over the tank. You could put some around the plant bases if you are worried that the goldfish will dig them up.
