I just bought a huge and I reapeat HUGE water lettuce plant for my ten gallon which i hope to put my betta in soon but anywho the roots are really really long can they be trimmed?

Oh, sure you can trim them, Maceo. Just grab a scissor and snip away. Just not too much - otherwise they plant might die down. The roots on a water lettuce are actually quiet a simple filtration system, and the longer the better.

I agree with ranchugirl...cutting off too many could do more harm than good
