im starting to think that plankton, my black moore is developing swim bladder, my parameters are all fine, i feed my fish topfin flakes (i soak them so they will sink) i am planning on getting a different food this weekend, i have plankton in with another fish his same size (about 2.5 inches), they are in a 55 gal, i change about 20% of the water once a week, i have 460 GPH of filtration, i use AquaSafe by Tetra to rid chlorine and onther harm do-ers from the new water, he seems to be swimming on his side just a little, not fully sideways and he stays at the top a lot although he can swim down to the bottom when he wants to, does this sound like swim bladder? if so how should i treat him, unfortunately i don't have anything to keep him in by himself so i can't seperate him, unless i put him in a 3 gal bucket which don't want to do, any ideas?

Try the pea method-warmed up and lightly mushed and
de-skinned. Along with that try varying the diet you give
your goldies like lettuce, spinach, cucumber, orange slices,
watermelon or whatever else your goldie will eat. And keep
on soaking all the normal goldie food you feed them.

And spirulina? I think I read somewhere that it helps? Can anyone back that up?

What has the poo color been from your little buddy? I
wouldn't seperate from the rest of the tank though.

Hi!
My Oranda Kitty suffers from Swim Bladder... To keep her from floating... I only feed her soaked pro gold, or Hikari Plankton or Blood Worms... all soaked... so that they sink. If I don't soak them she float to the top.
I also intermix peas into her diet... and if it is really BAD... I add salt to the tank and that eases her floatiness..
It's all about the food though. I would switch to a different type... I really like the pro gold
good luck!!

well i bought some bio-blend goldfish food today, i haven't fed them yet but i will see how it works out for them, i figured this would help since bio-blend is a sinking pellet

One thing I'll say about bio blend ... it still made my oranda floaty. The only food that doesn't is the pro gold.
Just a forewarn
