2-part question - help please,

I am currently trying out Pro-Gold, courtesy of "touchofsky" , but have heard that Hikari Lionhead really helps wen growth. Is this true? I have a fantail, oranda & black moor (just lost my lion head but will get another one). If I feed Hikari Lionhead, will it be good food for all?

Anyone? Does anybody on this board use hikari lionhead?

I use Hikari lionhead food, and use it quite a lot as a basic staple food combined with other good stuff. I did notice an enhanced headgrowth on a lot of my orandas, ranchu and lionheads, mostly the young ones, simply because the bigger ones might have been already too old to change...
I do have some mix-and-match tanks, so even though there are fish breeds in there with no headgrowth, they all get the same food, it doesnt do them any harm. Still to wait for my black moore to grow a wen though

I feed all my fish Hikari Lionhead, and I don't even have a Lionhead! Though I do have one oranda...and they all seem to love it. I figure it's just high in vitamins and what-not, which help with wen growth. I couldn't see any possible harm being done to the others for eating it.

My fish all eat Hikari lionhead too. I do have a lionhead and an oranda. I posted pics a few weeks ago of the lionhead asking if he was getting a wen. I could not see one.

Honest to God, a couple of days on Hikari lionhead food and I can see the wen starting. I don't know if he was just due to start growing it, or the food is helping LOL, but I've had this lionhead for six months and nothing until I started the food.

I do know this though, my fish have all been much healthier from the Hikari food. It's great stuff!

My other fish, two moors and a Ryukin also eat the lionhead food.

I use tetrafin goldfish/koi food and my fish cant get enough of it. Maybe because its so nutritiuos .

Would you say it's as good as the progold in your opinion? Progold I have to order, Hikari they seem to carry it in on of our local pet stores.

i don't think its quite as good as progold, but still a nice choice. i personally feed both

I think it's just as good as pro gold =o) Everyone I've spoken too has told me you can't go wrong with either of those brands.

I have to order pro gold too, it's just easier to get the Hikari for me, although it's more expensive than the progold here.

Thanks Jessica and Luke - It's hard for me to get Progold, and I do think Hikari is a better value here.. will check it out
