My newest experiment with a pair of twin tale bettas has produced an astonishing amount of fry, and I dont know what to do with all of them! They are free swimming since today, and I was amazed how many fry that male has to take care of!
How many exactly? Well, a careful count estimates the number of fry to about........THREE! That male has one of the easiest jobs on earth, only 3 fry!! I keep looking and looking, since he built a rather high bubble nest, but all I see are 3!
He can be proud of himself!

Well, 2 more popped up, but I doubt the male will break out in a sweat because of it!

How big are betta fry. Comparable to a guppy or to a goldfish?

Betta fry is smaller than guppy babies. My 3 day old guppies are as big as the 3 week old bettas! Bettas are more like goldfish babies, looking thin and stringy for a while, before you actually see that they are fish...

Awww they sound really cute! I"ve never seen a baby fish...well we had a baby guppy once when I was a kid, but that was so long ago I don't even remember what it looked like.
