Hi everyone.

I just added an apple snail to my 36 gal tank with my two Ryukins.

I couldn't help it, he looked sooo cute in the store, and I knew he wanted to come home with me rolleyes.gif

Anyway I've been reading up, and am not sure if I should add calcium to my water or not.

Our water here is very hard. My tank water is 310ppm, with pH 7.8. Is there enough Ca in the water for my snail if I supplement his diet with Ca rich veggies?

If I do need to add Ca, I will go with the Kent's liquid which most of you use, but will it increase the total hardness, and change the pH. and will this be OK for my goldies? idont.gif

the calcium is fine for any other inhabitants of the tank, and it wont change your ph. if you only have one of hte little guys, and you feed him lots of calcium rich foods, then i think you can get away with out calcium for him.
