What is the best type of food for 2 goldfish (ryukin)? We are using flakes and pellets daily and some brine shimp once a week. Is this okay or should I feed them something else?

Be careful with flakes, they should be soaked first.

That diet looks pretty good, but you could throw some fresh fruits and veggies in there. Mine love peas, strawberry, and cooked broccolie.

Warning: only feed broccolie right before a water change! It gets EVERYWHERE. x.x

You could try making gel food too, it's neat. The fish love that!


You could feed them vegetables occasionally, peas are great as are zucchini pieces, blanched of course.
