Hi jimmy, in my experience one just needs to experiment with different foods until you find something that is agreeable. This can be an expensive exercise.
Generally speaking, any food that sinks is less likely to cause floaty problems with fish who have digestive issues. This is simply because they are less likely to swallow air. Even soaking flakes for a minute or two and letting them sink can do the trick.
If floatiness is bad you can suppliment each meal with a pea.

I agree. The only way they cause less floating is by not letting the fish gulp air. Other than that there is really no difference.
I have floating Hikari gold pellets, and if I soak them for a minute and pinch them, they will sink. Maybe try that before buying more food?

My fish used to gulp air when they were hungry too, when I fed them flaked food. When I switched to sinking pellets, after about a week they stopped because they realized that food was on the bottom..not the surface. Now they never gulp air at all. So my advice; go with sinking food
