Okay, I'm going away to my cottage really soon, but I don't know what I should do with my snails. I have two snails, each about 1cm in diameter in my betta's bowl. But, I just found a whole bunch of tiny snails, very hard to see! I was going to bring my betta to my cottage in a jar and leave his bowl at home, but now I don't know what to do with my snails. Can I leave them at home with no one there? Will they survive? By the way, what do they eat anyway? I know they ate my whole plant, but that was months ago. What are they eating now? How do I take care of them? I know NOTHING about snails...the two I have came home with me on a plant. But they were too small to see, and now I have no idea what I should do...AHHHHH!!! Thanks. huh.gif laugh.gif

well, i would clean the tank out, and get rid of some of the tiny snails, tiny snails will just make more tiny snails. what you could do, is after you clean the tank, put hte snails you want back in, and get some type of plant for them, just for them to eat. that would be fine for them while your away if you take the betta with you.

That's a good idea. But I'm also wondering, what have they been eating after the plant was eaten? I've fed them nothing and they keep groing and stuff...wierd... blink.gif

hmmm....most pest snails will eat anything they can get their slimey little mouths on, and do just peachy that way. maybe left over betta food and algae??

That woulld be a good idea, but my betta always eats EVERY LAST BIT of his food...and the plant is completely gone! Oh well...doesn't matter much! Thanks! biggrin.gif
