this is probably a stupid question, but are ghost shrimps fresh water?
i thought that they migh be marine?

what do they eat etc?

they mostly pick up what your fish have missed. they eat anything and everything. if i have alot, ill supplement the crumbs with some algae wafers, or a pellet of sinking fish food.

Don't want to hijack the thread or anything... but I was at petsmart with a friend and he saw them and absolutely loved them. He's going to set up his 60-gallon again sometime soon, probably with tropical fish.

How much space do these shrimpies need? Do you need to keep them in groups? How do they breed? Which fish are they good/bad with?

Just wanted to know, since I didn't before and couldn't tell him anything.

they are sold here usualy 4 for a dollar. i like to keep em in groups, since theyre so little, i figure they need friends that dont wanna eat em like the fish. I dont think they need very much space, i just add them to my tank, i didnt even consider space. they breed like rabbits if they have hiding places and food. theh babies eat floating things in your water and little crumbs, you really cant feed the babies anything special. the adults will eat anything they can get their little claws on. if theres enough hiding places, they can go with pretty much any freshwater fishes, although big fish eat em. they are sold as feeders usually.

hey..theyre awesome! i keep a herd of em in my snail tank just to do clean up duty! i havent seen those lil wormie things and whatnot since i got em!

Are they okay with goldies? My goldies are pretty small, under two inches, would they be okay with them?
