Hi everyone

My tank just finished cycling today and now its got a lot of algae in it. I got a

today . its about 1 1/2 inches long and ive noticed its eating nonstop all of the algae. I remember some post saying if you over feed a goldfish you could kill it. now im getting a bit concerned with all the algae the GF is eating. do any of you know the health benefits to the GF eating algae and the negative side affects to the GF eating the algae?
thanks

Hi TM
well i dont know anything about goldfishs being good to eat algae or bad things but if you want to get rid of the algae, i would recommend you can buy a Pleco bristlenose or a rubberlip to eat it away...

the goldfish wont over eat the algea.
Its like a cow, you put it out to pasture and it will graze all day but never overeat. But if it breaks into the grain it will eat itself to death.
Fish will graze the algea down them selves, and not over eat, but feeding too much pellets and such will be very harmful.
