I heard that dry foods no longer have nutritional value after two months of opening it. Is this true? I bought a conainer of omega one and only fed about fifteen pellets before the goldfish died.. That was a month ago, but I can't get anymore goldfish for another two months because I'm trying to cycle fishlessly ._. Is this going to be another 8 dollars down the drain?

Helloooo! smile.gif

The only definite shelf life I've heard for any pellet of any kind is 6 months, and that's for MediGold - and in that case, it's the medication involved that makes the shelf life shorter. For an unmedicated food, I would think that as long as it's stored in a cool dry place, it should keep for much longer than that.

Thankies smile.gif I should have goldfish by then. If I don't I think I might go crazy! I'm struggling to tell myself to wait and do a fishless cycle instead of bringing home a baby goldie to just do it for me. Two months is so long and I can't afford to by anything that is only optional, such as cycling products. I keep telling myself to be patient tho..It'll be a long wait. I don't even have ammonia yet. I can't find the right stuff. By the way, I wrote down the the date on my calender for when the meds you sent me expire smile.gif
