My daughter's new teacher said she wanted to get a betta for the classroom. To avoid watching another suffer I offered to purchase the tank. Not to worry, I didn't break my promise not to go to an lfs. I went to Walmart and got a nice 2.5 gallon. Perfect for a little classroom. smile.gif Just wanted to share! I am excited about the new guy that we will have soon. This teacher is a huge animal lover so hopefully she will be good to him.

Thanks. I am excited to pass along everything I have learned here to a virgin betta owner. I hope she gets that I am excited and that I don't overwhelm her. I can be a bit overwhelming when I am passionate about something.

Most teachers really appreciate parental help. And since she loves animals too, I'm sure she will be more careful with one than the last teacher was. That was great for you to offer the tank. Good luck, I'm sure the kids will enjoy it. smile.gif

I am really excited. I have the tank all set up. I just need to get the fish tomorrow. I am going to a small lfs here that has great tropical tanks (no goldies. Can you believe that?! ) in hopes that their bettas will be as healthy as the rest of the fish there. I sure don't want to show up with a fish like my little guy, Winter.
