I dont know that this is an emergency since he has had it for about 5 months.
Ok so this woman gave me this fish about 2 months ago and when i got it it had pop eye already. Now dont get mad at me but i am gonna tell you the living conditions...
There are 2 goldies in this 10 gallon tank and they are really big goldies, the larger one is the one that is ill. They grew up to the size they are in this tank and no one has changed the living conditions, i am working on it i should have the 55 gallon by the end of this month. but that isnt what i need to know...

I am wanting to put him into a community tank and i want to know if he is gonna get my other goldies sick? I know alot about goldies but i have never dealt with this much illness my original 4 goldies are really health always have been so i dont know what to do? Will the fish that he is housed with spread it to my other goldies even if she is not showing signs of illness? Can some one help?

Ammonia-oppm Nitrate-0ppm nitrites-? PH-7.0
I use Stress Coat and Stress Zyme to treat the water and it has a Wisper 500 filter
and lots of air, I feed them Tetrafin Flake food. There are 2 fish in a 10 gallon and one is 6in and the ill one is 8in. He still eats well and it he doesnt seem to be affected at all but that his eye is poping out. I do a 15% water change a week and 50% once every 2 months, He also just in the past 3 days has lost 2 scales so i dont know what that means..The tank has been running for about 3 years since the girl got the fish.

Please help i dont want him to suffer,

oh yeah, and i put a small amount of salt in the tank each time i change the water

I would do a 60% water change and start a treatment of a broad spectrum antibiotic. I wouldn't bother putting those two into the community tank because even if the other goldie isn't showing any symptoms of illness he could still be carrying something. After the treatment is completed I would up the water changes to 50% water changes, twice a week. The increased nitrates in the water from being overstocked need to be taken out or else they'll get sick again. I'd also recommend getting a Nitrate test kit and testing your water to determine if it needs a water change.
Hope this helps! biggrin.gif

I agree. I wouldnt put him in the other tank entil you get the popeye cleared up. Mr. Orange had popeye, and it got pretty bad within a week. I used Marycn two, and it worked great. Within 2 days, the popeye was clearing right up!

Also I have tried 5 different treatments and nothing has helped, I am trying PIMAFIX and ANTI-BACTERIA MEDICATED FOOD I hope that these help but should I treat his tank mate even if I seperate them????? ill.gif
