Mfish
Ammonia: normal
Nitrate: 5
Nitrite: .1
pH: 7.5
Tank: 10 gals (been running for about two weeks)

I use Aquasafe water cond. and A.C.T. by Mardel (cycle inducer)

I feed them regular Tetrafin Flakes.

In the tank is a 1.5" ryukin (fine) and a 1" black moor (sick)

I know a bit over stocked. sad.gif

I do a 20% water change every other day.

The black moor, Melbourne, has been swimming around the bottom and doesn't move very far or often. The Ryu, Burt, is fine. Melbourne had a large red poo that made me think he was constipated, and he had a white splotch on his gil plate, it looks like he is starting to change colors. He also has white on his tail and today it looks it is beginning to fray a bit. If someone could some me a picture of fin rot that would be great. I heard moors will often have frayed tails while growing (could someone show a pic of this me this too.)

Any idea of what this is would be great. Any help is greatly appreciated biggrin.gif .

Hi ,Sorry to hear that Melbourne isn't feeling so well. Cycling a tank is very hard on your fish. What do you mean by your Ammonia is "Normal"? Is it reading 0? Your Nitrites are a little high. You'll have to up your water changes to get that down low enough to not stress your fish. As for the Moor's fins,it will probably clear right up as soon as you get your water paremeter's spot on.I have 4 Moor's,and I have never had any sort of problem with their fins. What do you feed your fish?

I feed them TetraFin goldfish flakes. My Ammonia indicator goes noraml, caution, danger, and toxic (I know not very good, best I could find.)

I think I will add salt and change some water.

I had one of those ammonia readers, and they dont work very well. i would see about getting an ammonia tester (whether it be test stripes, but I recommend the dropper testers) to really get a good idea. Mine wouldnt say anything other then normal entil the ammonia got really high.
