For the last 2 weeks my two goldfis were acting funny. They were sitting at the bottom of the tank and not moving much. They wouldnt even go to the top of the tank for food. They were hungry and would eat when fed, but only after the food sunk to the bottom. After eating they would resume their bottom sitting and not move unless I encouraged them to with the net or fed them again. I am absolutely anal about not overfeeding them, but for lack of any other disease symptoms I suspected constipation, so I fasted them for 2 days then gave them peas. This didnt work though. My water levels were well within normal too. So, as a last resort somebody mentioned trying a larger air bubble stone , and believe it or not as soon as I put it in they were back to 100%, and have been now for 3 days. I cant believe it was that simple. I thought if they needed more oxygen they would swim at the top, but I guess not. So when all else fails try adding more oxygen to their tank.
