MY fish won't eat! I;ve given them reg. Flakes and pellets and once in a while some raw and frozen foods. But, now they won't eat anything. They've never done this-- After i gave them some shrimp and blodo worms; they wouldn't eat it. So i put them on reg. Flakes and for a while (they were eating) but that lasted like 2 days. Now they just spit everything back out. Does anyone know what could possibly be going wrong? They look so thin. IF that's even possible

How long have they been off their feed? Do you have plants in the tank? Do they look munched on?

They've been not eating for like 2 days; and everything with the water is all ok.

They may just need a break- have you ever fasted them? I mean if nothing else is wrong don't feed them for 3 or 4 days and see if they get hungry. If there is something else wrong or they are acting funny as well as not eating then post in the disease forum.

I will do that.. thanks =) I always hate fasting my GF's.. sad.gif

Fasting is actually healthy for gold fish
my fish dont eat on sundays and some other random day of that week, just to clean out their systems.

But fish really wont go off their feed for no reason. They are not picky eaters. Fast them for 2 days, then try feeding them cooked, skinned, mushed peas (not only do fish like peas, this will help further clean out their systems) .whut might have happened is they got sick from the bloodworms, ate flakes, and are now really feeling sick to their bellys. Good luck with them, keep us updated. - Meg

I am going to move this thread to the disease section.
You will get some more help there.

We will need you to answer all the questions at the top in the box.

Now, it is one thing to fast a fish, but if they aren't eating or spitting food out there is a problem and we have to figure out what it could be.

I know I have heard Toothless say if a fish is spitting out food it can be an indication of a parasite.
Have you noticed any strange behavior?
Any new fish?

Tha'ts fine Laurie..

Here are the answers
-Water levels are all fine;
-I put it in a 10 G hospitol tank; that's been running for about 4 days after a nice clean out (2 goldies- a Telescope and Common; i know- overstocked..ergh) It's about 2/3 filled up b/c they're still recovering from some SwimBladder
-Right now it's being filtered with a couple of individual "stick on" temporary. 5G filters cuz i need to get another one soon.
-LAst thing i gave them was some cooked shrimp peices, but normally it's Goldfish flakes with occasional "good foods".
-Salted their tank a while ago with coarse salt cuz they were sick.

teleschope is lying on the bottom; often leaving agasint the glass like it can't hold self up with a curved spine and spazzing; HAving trouble breathing- when he gasps in his whole body shakes. and he has a thin white streak running horazonatally through his gills (both sides) he's like this about 60% of the time. Otherwise, he is swimming around (very low) aimelessly. I'm thinking that the telescope part of his eyes are getting a bit grayish/fuzzy... i'm not sure of that though. He spits out his food; but not all the time.

I just checked the common, and i believe his tail is beginning to rot-- it's getting some grayish fuzzy frayed edges, a bit clumpy. (If it is fin rot; i have no idea where to quarentine him-- running out of space;; ahh!) He swims around occasionaly darting places. He's a big spitter. But he's hungry- always goes for food but spits it out; tries to go for it again and keeps spitting it out.

Both of their gills are bigger than their abdomin; They weren't before. Pumping like crazy. They're either getting thin or their Gills are Enlarging. And the Common's Gills are exceptionally redder.
**Also; Both of them seem fine; like they're skinsophrenic- for short periods of time they're both swimming around like they're not hurt at all; but then you look again and showing odd symptoms.

Ahh this is so confusing. I checked and they're symptoms are all scattered among like 23739827 diesases! krazy.gif Tuberculosis, SBD, Intestinal Worms, Flukes, Parasites etc??? Any of those sound like this? This is making me so nervous sad.gif I wish they weren't sick and just REALLY sleepy.. wacko.gif (look at how many run on sentences i have-- my english teachers would kill me.. ha)
Sorry this is a LONG post- idont.gif
