i was just down at my local florist and noticed they had a new product. water lillies. i was wonder if i could put that in my goldfish tank? just one of them. would it work out or does it DEFF need to be in a pond?i think it would be so awesome...tell me what u think! thanks.

:From what I know about Water Lilies,You'd need an open tank so air could circulate around it.I also think that you'd have to have some really strong lighting above it to get it to bloom. JMO.....

i agree, thats what i heard too, i ahve seen them used in tanks, but they can get pretty big! Good luck, let us know what you decide

So if you bought a water lily, it would have to live in a tank with no hood? I'm interested cuz I saw some in the classifieds

No, i dont think i'll be getting a lilly for my tank. right now my tank is doing awesome, algae is starting to grow and my java moss is taking off. adding a lily would mean me getting hanging light fixtures and just an extra cost i cant do right now. maybe in the future, plus My car needs Wheel Bearings (lil costly) being on a stundents budget. i dont have much money to work with so i'm making the best of everything. my moms been helping me with a little of the fish tank expense since she likes it alot but she said no to a new hanging lighting system. she said "Leave well enough alone..." and a mother is usually right..she has been all my life so far. sometimes i learn the hard way. haha..neways...thanks everyone. ur all so awesome.
