Last night I heard on the news about this museum in AZ that had a certain exhibit. It was a chandelier with many lightbulbs hanging down, with bettas in them! You could see that their water was cloudy and poopy, and they were in lightbulbs! Numerous complaints were already issued, but inspectors didn't find anything inhumane about this exibit because they were being fed etc. It made me kind of sad sad.gif

Man, the nerve of some people. That's a sad thing to hear about, but at least as they said, they're being fed. Artistic liscense only goes so far, using live animals and not knowing how to properly house them is pushing it way past the boundries. Just like the goldfish in blenders exhibit, the plugs were out, but the idea behind it was IMO insanity.

That is sad; was it on the news because of complaints made by people or was it actually about the 'artwork' itself?

just as sad as the lady who kills cats for her art... sad.gif Im an artist, and would NEVER put an animal in harms was to make a point.... Grrr.... worse then PITA.... (yes I have a grudge against them, but for another place!)

I believe it was on the news for complaints, because I remember the heading was "creative art or animal abuse" or something like that...I was so tired! I'm glad it caused a little scene. In the very least, it shows that people are becoming more educated about fishies, and the poor little bettas smile.gif

That's good, at least.

The ONLY way I would put an animal in my art is to
A. Put them in the tiny space for a minute and take a picture and put em back and paint of the photo

B. use my imagination.

It would probably be the later.
