I went and bought a betta today, yet to be named..... I felt so sorry for them all, they were in pint sized glasses sitting glumly on a shelf. Atleast this one will be happy. How do you determine what sex they are?

That betta is a male betta. Most of the bettas you see in the cups are always males. The males have the long flowing fins, and very vivid colors. The females have very short fins (very noticable) and usually arent as vivid in coloration. He's a beautiful betta!
