Hi, Newbie here. biggrin.gif

I want to know how good ShoGold is? How does it compare to Progold?

For those that have used it to feed their goldies, what did it do for your fishies? Happy with the results?

I'm thinking of switching to ShoGold once my current commercial gf food runs out and that is going to be soon.

Thanks everyone!

can you get me the ingredients + nutritional value on ash, protein, and fiber etc?
BigFish939
Maniacholic, thanks for your response. I managed to get this info on ShoGold. It doesn't seem to have any preservatives or antioxidants. Is that important?

Nutrition Facts:

Protein ..... 38%
Fiber ..... 2.55%
Fat ..... 6%
Ash ..... 4.36%
Calcium ..... 1.01%
Phosphate ..... 0.93%
Moisture ..... 10%

Ingredients:

Anchovy Fish, Wheat Germ, Whole Wheat, Alfalfa, Hydrolyzed Protein Meal, Soy Meal, Gluten Protein, Spirulina, Marine Fish Oil, Minerals (Zinc Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Potassium Sorbate, Di-calcium Phosphate), Vitamins (C- Stabilized, A, D, E, K, B1, B2, B6, Choline- chlorine, Niacin, Biotin, Folic Acid, B12), Additional Carotenoids (A-Xan, Cantha Xan, Xan-Yellow), All Essential Amino Acids, & Aqua Health's Aquagen Biogenic Performance Enhancer.

I'm not a food scientist so I wouldn't know what half the stuff on the ingredients list are. wink.gif

Impressive! this is a COMPLETE carp diet... but it just bothers me about the supplements used to make this, and anchovy meat as its main ingredient may be too salty, other then that the ash contents is magnificent, protein is rather low for a goldfish so it needs to be put in conjunction with high protein sources (worms or bugs), and the fiber is perfect to be used for a main diet... where did you get the nutritional info?

Maniacholic, here's the reference to where I got the Shogold info:

I wish to try it, but my goldfishes food reserve is still sufficient... can you inform us about it after you have tried it?

Much appreciated
