Why won't my snails eat romaine lettuce?

Mine dont seem to like lettuce as much either. Every once in awhile they will munch on it, but they would rather eat a cucumber slice... i guess our snails are just being picky.

The one or two times that I have tried lettuce,they picked at it.My snails would much rather have Collard Greens,Zuchinnii slices,Mustard Greens Etc. Maybe there's not that much flavor to them either!

You know how kids adopt their parents' eating habits? Well.. do you like Romaine? I don't and my snails don't either. There's my theory.

Anyways, it could be too fresh. They like yummy dead decaying stuff.

It's strange that they don't like it considering they will eat anything. My squirrels love Romaine and they are quite picky.. but the snails don't eat it. Strange.

I'll try the greens. So much for romaine. I personally love it, but spinach is even better if you ask me. I did put a canned green bean (I know all the nutrients are cooked out) in there for fun and it was long gone this morning. Everyone in the tank loves zucchini and algae tabs and oranges. I am just looking for some variety for them. Isn't that funny? My cat eats the same food everyday and I never thought twice about it but I worry about my fish and snails having variety.

Yeah I do the same thing but I feed my dog veggies and such occasionally. I think it's because fish and snails get so little human interaction, so their type of enrichment is their diets. I hope that made sense.. I think I've been at the zoo for too long..

My snails do not eat lettuce either. All they eat is cucumber - that is it. They are all different.

You should really try boston lettuce, my snails don't eat
any other type of lettuce.

Sometimes around here Smack ,you can find it as Bibb Lettuce. It's a more tastier "Select" Lettuce,so some say.

OOOH! I just saw that stuff today!!! I was looking at all the green leefy stuff, and I ended up getting spinach, but saw some of that too! I was wondering if they could eat it!
