I'm setting up a new tank for my incoming two ryukins.should i put anything on the bottom?

If this is going to be a quarentine tank before they get added to a larger one, I would go barebottomed (with a smattering of gravel) with sparse ornaments. I mean, have them a safe place to go to like a group of silk plants but don't clutter it up too much. Barebottomed tanks are waaaay easier to keep clean and this translates into more time to concentrate on making sure they get a clean bill of health.

BTW, gravel should either be too large or too small to get stuck in your largest and smallest goldfishes mouths. wink.gif

I agree. If its going to be a QT tank, id go bare bottom just because it will be easier to keep clean. If you do add gravel, i'd go with the larger gravel so they dont get stuck in the goldies mouth.
