I might get a betta someday in the somewhat nearish future! YAY! lol...Anyways, I was wondering what their activity level is like. Unfortunatley, the only bettas I've seen were in one gallon or less bowls. They were all very inactive, and just kind of sat at the bottom. I heard that bettas have a lower activity level, but like how low? My betta will share a ten gallon with a small school of black neon tetras and will be filtered, and hopefully have live plants smile.gif I don't want it to just sit at the bottom or drift around. Are they active enough to swim around a lot?

Mine swims around all the time, he may not be as active as my goldfish but he still is active. When ever I'm in the room there he is swimming and begging for food

My betta is in a 10 gallon tank and he is fairly active. Sometimes he will hide in the plants and in the decoration I have in his tank, but he does come out a lot. Especially when he sees the food container! laugh.gif

Mine swims around quite alot too. He works on his bubble nest alot and watches anybody who walks by. He always runs up and flares at DH but when I walk up he just expects his food! rofl3.gif
They really have great personalities. Some are more laid back though. They are all beautiful to look at!!

Yay! I'm excited to get one, tho it won't be for a while.. I've got to save up for a twenty gallon for goldies and the fill that up first. My ten gallon doesn't have a top and doens't have the best filter so I think I'll just buy a ten or fifteen marine land kit for my tropicals to go in later. Why do my interests always have to be so expensive?

I bought one of those sad little bettas sitting in a bowl at the pet shop. After a few weeks of TLC he's very active! The same pet store also had bettas in their tropical tanks and those guys were very active as well, I think with the right environment they are pretty exciting fish. heartpump.gif

Kinda off topic, but Chrissy, you have such pretty fish and a beautiful tank. What kind of plants do you have in there?

Thanks Kissy biggrin.gif
I just have silk plants, my fish are piggies and I figure they'd eat live plants up!

bettas are not very active,
they just really HOVER in the water.

Their movement and activity is very similar to a SEAHORSE
