Hey everyone! I usually don't post in here, but I was thinking about getting my first betta, and I wanted to know if a 5 gallon tank with filter would be right for him? I'm used to goldies, so any advice would be quite useful for me! And also can I put a female in with a male or do they also have to be seperate? Thanks! heartpump.gif

Yes, a 5 gallon would be great for a betta. I would get a male. You cant put males with males, and I dont think females go in with the males entil their ready to mate, then i think you have to seperate them again. I think you could put 1 male betta in the 5 gallon. Alot of people have them in the 5 gallon mini bows.. thats what i put mine in usually.

Like BigRedandBlindWillie said, the 5 gal. tanks are great. I have a male in a 5 gal. and he's very happy there. When I first got my betta's I bought a male and a female because I thought they could live together. It did not last long. The male was picking on the female and I had to separate them. Good luck with your betta. Your really going to enjoy them.

Hey All~
Thanks to everyone for their great feedback! I have set up my little 5 gallon MiniBow, and got REALLY pretty one at Petsmart. They had like 8 milloin of them to choose from, it took me forever, but I finally found the one! He's hot pink, purple with a little bit of teal! I'm trying to get pictures of him right now, but he keeps hiding from me! I'll post them as soon as I have a good one!
