Well, we went up to Oregon Koi today. I was too early yet for the new arrivals they are still in QT but I did find a couple of nice Shushui I liked.

I named this one Padparashcha, LOL! Getting ready to go in the QT here. Its about 8 inch's.

A few I would have liked to bring home, lol! The big guy's & girls. There was a Tancho that kept coming up and it would just hang there with his mouth open hopeing for a snack. I couldn't help but laugh at that one as it reminded me of a basket ball hoop to shoot food into its mouth. rofl3.gif

I emailed the pick of the koi in the pond to my boyfriend and he said he wants one!!! YAY! lol. (I'm brainwashing him btw) So he said we can have a big koi pond if we ever live permanantly together biggrin.gif I don't think he realizes how much it costs or how much room they need wink.gif

Oh, what neat new fish, Tamianth - and such gorgeous clear markings for a butterfly! Shushui are one of my favorite, and that combined with a butterfly = watch those fish, or you might miss one in the morning...

jtmuch.gif Ranchu you should have went with me up to Oregon Koi, it just so happens he has some top notch very high quality 2 year olds that I would have gave my eye teeth for. There was a showa in that tank that would give a standard fin a run for the money. A jaw dropping down right gorgouse! Hubby took a shine to a standard fin, GinkinRin Asagi in the same tank, i'm like yeah.. ok, I know you have good taste my dear, i'm betting that's a 350.00 fish! turns out that was 250.00 tank.... lets talk break the bank! rofl3.gif I could have bought at least two of the butterfly's in that tank that caught my fancy, the showa was one and I'm not a fan of Kohaku, but he had one in that I could honestly say I liked for once! I did end up spending double what I had planned on as it was, lol!

Scott,
lol, It happens There's a few more available in that pond, I know Arthur ships too. The web sight is still under Sunset Koi & Water Gardens. I think the ponds are so lovely there! The blood lines are japanese and I was told the color stays well with the Japanese bloodlines. There's a notation on my sales slip, Suda it say's, I assume thats the breeder. I paid $75.00 each. There's a nice one about a inch bigger then Pad but the head was solid red. Looked promising though!

TY Demi,Pond,Kissy,Black!

And Kissy, it just depends on what you go for, I try to stay mid range, not too cheap, but not to spendy. Pick your fish in two's and you can get some variety of color going. Last year I bought 4- 2 year olds, Lemon yellow matsuba, two ginkinrin Yamabuki's, male & female and one that is the most deliciouse translucent carmel color with the longest fins. So very graceful that one! biggrin.gif

LOL I ALWAYS spend more than I want when it comes to koi. I wish I had room for more but i don't. My fish have too many babies and I haven't gotten rid of all of them yet. sad.gif Gin Rin Asagi! another one of my favorites, sounds like you had a great time.
Suda, I think that I seen that name on other koi sites. I'm not sure but I think that Bonnie Hale gets some of her fish from Suda. Very good breeder.

LOL! Yeah, they wouldn't tell me who the breeder was for the class acts, but obviously they where top of the line! I've never seen such chrystal clean snow white before and that showa has just stuck in my mind. The hubby just isn't gonna spring 250 for it though, lol!

I thought maybe that was the case, I've seen Suda mentioned here and there, but don't much in that dept. as far as the breeders go.

I have champagne tastes on a beer buget! jtmuch.gif

I want that Showa..... cry3.gif

Calico, I couldn't say, its well over the 4,000 gl mark. This one of the dealers ponds. Mostly in depth. The Koi where very lovely, I especially liked the center one, its a Ai goromo, and there was one other darker Budo Goromo that really was a beauty. My pond is basically Butterfly though and those are standard fins. Goromo isn't a color we will see with Butterfly's for awhile yet, I did ask since its a color/pattern I like!
