Mew mommy! Just got back from ND for about 24 hours, Peaches was hungry, I fed him like normal, but he swallowed a huge peice of his jello type food! His mouth is sticking out really far and is making wierd mouth movements! What's wrong??? Is he going to be ok? Will he DIE???

He wont die, he is probably trying to eat it. If its bothering you alot get some tweezers and take it out. However i am sure he will be able to chew it. If you want to take it out to be safe do so. Good Luck

Hi DancingGoldenFishy,
How did it go? I am guessing that your fish was finally able to swallow it. My fantail Star will pack her mouth so full that she makes those funny mouth movements and it eventually goes down.

My ryunkin does this as well. He will take huge goobles of food, and then make all these funny mouth movements for awhile, and stick his fishy lips out really far.... its kinda funny.

Hey Dancing Fishy~
How's Peaches!I hope all is well! I'm with everybody else on this too, my fish are such biggies that they think they have to grab all the food at once!

Sometimes it's really funny to watch! Don't worry hon, I'm sure she'll be just fine!

Same problem here.
Got a new shubunkin thats tiny and tried to eat the same food as the big goldies - greedy pigs they are!
Not to worry though - he'll spit it out and immediately eat it again so it gets stuck again, hehe

the odd mouth movements has to do with the placement of teeth, goldies teeth are in thier throats. not to worry its totaly normal!
