well, i had set up my 15 gallon pop up pond that I bought alittle while ago last weekend, and it didnt look that nice.... i wasnt totally satisfied with the look of it... it looked kinda cheap because of the blue plastic (see through too)... and this morning I was sitting by the window thinking how I needed to get smaller rocks in it (I had river rocks, but the goldie was burying himself under them), and I came up with this awsome idea. You know those wooden barrel type planters, that are like 30 gallons??? well I thought if I put the 15 gallon pond in the middle, and then put soil around the edges of it, and potted some plants, it would look really cool. So I sent my fiance off to the store, he bought new rocks for the pond, and this huge barrel planter (its cool, looks like old wood, with three large metal rings around it) and he got it for $16!, and then he bought soil, some vine like plants... Well it worked out perfectly. He bought three types of vine like plants. One grows purple flowers, another is bushy with white flowers, and he other is just leafy... they go around the pond, it looks awsome. That way the vines will also grow down the side of the planter. It was funny, because he went to turn around because he forgot soil, and he happened to turn into a pond shop, so he went in to look around... and he brought me home this AWSOME pond plant that is perfect in that small of apond. It stands like 4 feet high, has dark green leaves bigger then my head, with purple trim, and deep dark purple stems. So thats in there, and I also bought some lillie bu;lbs at petsmart (red and white lillies), so now those are in there. He also got some of these tiny green leafy things that float on top... i cant remember the names but ive seen them everywhere! So, we got it all set up, and the plants around the sides of the pond look awsome, and my koi water piece looks awsome. it sits perfectly on the planter, and squirts water into the little pond!!! My fish seems so much happier now too!! I wish I could post pictures, but my sister has the digital cam... ill be sure to right away when i get it back!

Sounds like it looks pretty nice now Red. The one plant sounds like one of the Taro plant species. So you might have to bring it inside in winter. I think they are so pretty but its too cold here and I have no place to go with one in winter!

Yeah, im pretty pleased with it. The plant I got for the pond does have to be brought in during the winter. It cant handle too cold of temps. Luckily, its only that cold towards november through the end of winter usually, so I could handle it being inside. They said it would do fine in the house in a small pot filled with water.
My sister is supposed to be down sometime soon, so ill have to get it then... but im thinking about just taking some with my normal camera, and just having them put it on a CD so i can upload them on to here. I think im just gonna do that
Della, i think it drives Ryan nuts, but I come up with some of the weird stuff. I love making things.... so I make alot of things around the house. We got a new patio set the other day, and its sitting out next to the little pond. It was really peaceful out there. The stars were out, we lit some cnadles, and I made steaks for dinner. it was nice.
