Just curious, how big of a tank would a male/female pair of pearl gouramis need if they had a good filter?

What about a pair of dwarf gouramis? Could they share a twelve gallon with five or so black neon tetras?

The pearl gourami is one of the most beautiful you can get but they would need a large tank to feel comfortable.
the dwarf pair will do ok in a 12 gallon with the neons, just make sure theres lots of plants to hide in and floating ones too. the filtration should be gentle too.

I agree with Sandy. Pearl gouramis are gorgeous, and very peaceful. They are one of my favourites. I kept mine in a 38 gallon tank. I don't think I would go smaller than a 30 gallon tank for a pair.

The dwarf gouramis would be a better choice for the smaller tank.

Oh, and let us know if you get them. We love to hear about new fish biggrin.gif
