I think there is a topic like this some where but, my pond water is still dirty/ cloudy. I am getting a little p'd off. I dont see the fish much either, (which is big for my parents) . I have got 2 plants and like 7 lillies at the top. Another question,How come my fish dont come up to the top or swim towards me when i come over? Shoey gets food at the top sometimes, Mr. koi like never does. I want to get some fantails for my upper pond soon, my mom said maybe this weekend. I hope it clears up and I get some fish smile.gif Anyone know why it is so sloudy/ dirty? Help is appreciated!

all new ponds are cloudy, just the way it goes. You could add more filtration which may speed things up a bit, I know a trickle tower would help but they aren't attractive.

When fish are new to a pond it takes them awhile to warm up to you. Feed them in the same spot of the pond, of course don't over feed. If you are already feeding in the same spot start feeding less. What you want is them to see you putting the food in so they know where it is coming from. You need to get them trained so that when they see you they associate you with food and they automatically swim toward you on site. If you over feed it'll take longer and maybe will never happen because they have no need in showing themselves.

Ok, thanks scott. Your alwayse a helping hand to me smile.gif I do what you said in the last post. The top pond is clearing up a little which is good. Mr. koi and shoey have been chasing and bumping each other alot lately. Breeding behavior? I dont think it is though. I do have a pump and a filter. The filter is spouting out water onto the water fall. The water fall goes into the1st pond.

great! Don't get discouraged if it clouds up once in awhile. It happens to everyone. It should stay clear most of the time now.

Congrats biggrin.gif

I had a Koi as well actually, that only stayed in the deeper parts of the pond.
Turned out it just needed another fish in the pond that was remotely his size (instead of tiny goldfish) to play around with.
Now he is all over the pond and we see him again!
