Hi,it is possible for Betta's to survive in a bowl. How big is the bowl we are talking about?

Sharon - the size is in the header of the post!

2-3 gallons should be fine. I think they make a small filter for bowls but if not you'll just need to change the water a few times per week!

Yes, bettas can survive in a bowl. They're such popular 'bowl fish' because in addition to their gills, they can breathe air from the surface through their mouths.
That's why some pet stores sell them in tiny little cups... mad.gif .

Personally I think keeping them in tiny 'traditional' fish bowls is pretty cruel, but there are nice big bowls out there, mine lives in a 5 gallon.

Good luck! biggrin.gif

As stated, weekly water changes will have to be a must. Other than that you're OK to go. Good luck!

He'll be fine in a 2-3 gallon bowl. I kept mine in a 2 gallon and he lived more than a year (then my dad put it in his death-trap of a fish tank...) Just be sure to slean the water every week! Twice, if possible.
