Full Version: Exactly What Do Fish-eggs Look Like Then?

Last night, I thought one of my fish was constipated. He (and I call him he with no proof...) ate a few peas, and promptly swelled up. I kept an eye on him, and noticed he was not pooping like he normally does after a feed. Every now and again, he gave out a little, white poop - about 2mm at the most.

He seemed fine this morning, but still a little bloated, so we decided to fast him for 24/48 hours, then feed peas again.

Now he seems back to normal size (almost, anyway) - but there is a long (10cm) thin, stringy white something wrapped on one of the fake plants. I think its a poop (and not a particularly healthy one at that) - but could it be eggs? Could Bam-bam be a bamette? Or is this just him getting over the constipation?

I thought I'd post in this section, as most people in this bit have bred before! If I'm totally wrong, sorry!

Eggs look like little clear round spheres so the white stuff you have seen appears to be nothing more than poop!

Actually..... (he said sheepishly)...

It was all fibre from the potted plants in the tank. Where I'd done a gravel-vac earlier tonight, I'd uprooted a potted drac!

Ho hum - so at least not horrible, bacterial poop!

Thanks for the answer though. thanxsn.gif
