Hi I have one female adf and two males. Since 1 of the males tried to mate with the female she has been isolating herself at the top of the tank for 3 days apparently breathing air. She has never behaved like this before even though the males have tried before. She is not feeding and her body seems more swolen than usual. Can anyone advise? Paul

you might have better luck in the tropical fish area or the chit chat area.

Have you noticed any redness of the limbs? My friends african dwarf frog died shortly after noticing a red arm. Her frog was also at the top of the tank.

Hi - I have frogs, too. I read a lot about them... there are several possibilities that do not necessarily indicate illness - I do not know if I can post this here but check out www.allaboutfrogs.org - loads of info! And the Aquarium frogs page at www.fishpondinfo.com - especially check out the aquarium frog links at the bottom of the main page. Hope you write back and let us know if your frog turns out to be OK - she's probably egging and is sick of being hit on by both the males at once!
MOD - sorry if I broke any rules! Please let me know.

Hi I haven'tchecked on here for a while. The frog made a recovery. I added calcium rich mineral water and internal bacteria treatment to her isolation tank and she recovered in about a week. Still swollen underneath but i guess thats eggs, c u Paul
