Of all the switches I have made in my life (things like going from PC to Mac, 13 to 14 XD) I am about to make the biggest one, Im going for a 30 gallon reef tank XD krazy.gif

I thought, since I am so close to the amount of money I need to buy it for (I have £50 rofl3.gif)
I might aswell start planning it now. I went to get pond treatments yesterday, so I decided to have a good look at the marines.

It was then I fell in love with it XD, a really beuatifull anemone XDDDDD I would love to house it iwth a pair of clowns and a firefish, but I dont know if they are all compatible.....

How much living rock should I get for the tank? It would probably be a long 30 gallon.....

Hi! Dont you just love your Mac? Once you go Mac you never go back! rofl3.gif

A 30 gallon is a great size–that is actually what I have. Anemones can be touchy, so make sure your tank is completely cycled and healthy before adding one to it. Also what kind of lighting will you have on your tank? Anemones do require more light than a fish-only tank so I would recommend getting at least power compacts.

Rose tip anemones seem to be preferable for clowns to host in. They are great looking. If you have never seen one I'd recommend checking them out online. I think they will also host in others but those are the ones we usually have and they seem to favor them. Also make sure to get both clowns at the same time. They are highly territorial and wont take to a new clown after being introduced.

I would recommend at least some live sand and about 30 lbs. of live rock. You generally want a pound per gallon. When I started my 30 gallon I only had about 10 pounds and then I stocked it slowly from there. I have close to 30 lbs. now. Usually the more, the better. Live rock and lighting will be your biggest expenses in a reef tank, but well worth it.

With enough live rock your tank may even cycle instantly, but I woudl recommend getting your water tested before adding anything, just to be safe. Good luck. I absolutely love my SW tank!

Cool! I was told to get two Hagen coralglo lights, I decided to leave the firefish as they have quite short lifespans. Thanks for the info! smile.gif

On a 30 gallon tank a 96 watt pc would work great.
