Is it okay to feed freeze-dried blood worms to goldfish? I think my lionhead macy has hole-in-the-head disease which is caused by not a wide enough variety of foods and nutrients. The pet store people recommended this and I bought it. But it says "for tropicals" and on the back it says "Freeze-dried bloodworms are processed to minimize contaminants that may be present in live bloodworms." So is there a chance it will hurt my fishy? She already has such a low immune system I don't want to hurt her. Would these also be okay for my tetras?

Kissy I am sure it is ok to feed your gf. I tried to give mine these little nasty things and just can't.....they gross me out too bad. rofl3.gif
But I am sure your fish will love them.

Thanks smile.gif All my fish love them. Though my baby lionhead is having trouble seeing them..she lunges at them and completely misses? Lol..well maybe its part of the unknown disease she's got (posted in the 911 forum called Help!)

I have fed my goldies freeze dried blood worms since ive started keeping goldfish. I dont feed the freeze dried ones as much anymore, but now i feed them the frozen ones. They seem to like them alot better. I always have some on hand, because my puffers will only eat the frozen blood worms, so on the days its time to feed the puffers, I give the goldies a treat og blood worms. I wouldnt feed them to them everyday though. I would give it as more of a treat.

Thanks guys smile.gif I *think* Macy likes them. She usually sucks them up and spits them out quite a bit and I can't tell if she's really eating them. I hope she's not losing her appetite.

I just bought some of the frozen ones today.....and OMG did they "jump" at them. They were literally "wagging their tails"!!!! rofl3.gif

They like the freeze dried ones too, but the frozen ones really caught their interest!!! Guess it's like the difference between canned green beans and the frozen fresh ones.!!! laugh.gif

what's a feeding ring?

just a little circle on top of hte water that keeps the food corralled in one little space rather then having it float all over the tank....

my telescope uses one, i gues its easier for her...
