I can swear up and down this topic was posted somewhere but now it's no where to be found. Anyway, I've come accross a 2.5 gallon acrylic hex aquarium and wanted to use it for my betta. Only problem is it was painted INSIDE this nasty green color with tempera paints, and on getting it out I've had to scratch it off with sponges/steel wool, but that left some aweful looking marks. sad.gif Does anyone recall how to get scratches out of acrylic tanks? idont.gif

Most acrylic polishing products will have very specific instructions to use to polish out the scratches. If they are not too deep, you will have success. Even if they are, you will be able to help it substantially and, with careful placement of plants and decorations you should be able to make that tank look good.

The acrylic polishers are available at most hardware stores. If they sell acrylic sheet of product, they will sell the polish....

It is a super fine abasive paste that you use to rub it polished. Several different abrasive strengths, generally. smile.gif
