Hi, I'm a new guy. I was just wondering where to buy good goldfish. I heard that petland is ok and I was wondering what you thought was a good store.

Where ya at? Maybe someone lives near you and can name a good store. Otherwise it really depends, one chain store (like Petco or Petsmart) might have really nice and healthy fish at one location but have really bad sick fish at another.

Did you have a look at our Petstore locator? Maybe you'll find something there in your neighborhood...

yea that locator is nice. i found one in minnesota but i haven't yet got to go there.

Petco here in Orlando is cheap, but horrible. One day I went in there to kill some time while waiting for a friend.... and there was a dead goldie in every one of the 6 goldie tanks ;p That's not counting the tons of dead ones in the feeder tanks.

Petsmart is much better, but even they have bad weeks...

Just spend some time looking at all the tanks... look for dead, sick, or lethargic fish. They're pretty easy to spot, even for us newbies.
