Well, my two 15 gallon pop up ponds came today. I was pretty excited. The pictures on the box show like 5 goldfish in each one, but Im only putting one per pond, since their so small. I went to fill one of them up, and water went everywhere! One of them has a hole in it. Do you think I should repair it, or just send it back? I was thinking of just sending it back. So i filled up the second one, and it acctually looks pretty neat. Im having a hard time positioning the water pump feature thing, but i think i got it under control. Maybe I can find a small cute little thing to hook on the end to squirt the water out of, instead of just the clear tube. Any ideas on some plants I can put in it? Ive never had outdoor pond plants.... so i have no idea what to get.

cool, you'll have to take pictures of it after it's set up so we all can see!

Put two goldies in, no one likes being alone wink.gif

On plants, hmmm, it's so small I'm not sure. The sides are clear which means you want it to look cool down below water as it does above. Here's an idea.

Get a large clear glass vase and some of those glass marbles then get a water cana lily

If you buy the cana online it will come bare root, if you buy it at a nursery where you live it will most likely be in it's pot. You want it bare root so clean off all the dirt from the roots and stick it in the glass vase and pour in the marbles. This will be your tall plant.

Get a smaller glass bowl or something like that, maybe a small clear glass flower pot. Get an oxygenator like Ambulia or hornwart

put this plant in the glass bowl or pot pour in some glass marbles to hold it there. Now you can also place in a water poppy because they don't get very big, and they look like miniature lilies

and they will cover the top, or you could go with Water Hyacinth which will look great floating on top.

wow, after thinking about this I may want to buy one of those tanks! I think it'd look cool on my patio.

Well there are my suggestions. Remember, you don't have to put your pond plants in soil, they'll live just fine without. Since you have fish in your little pond their waste produces ammonia which goes to nitrites then to nitrates which is plant food!

Please post some pictures when you get it set up.

You could do one of the mini water lily's , winter hardy Helvecta is white and the flower is maybe a bit bigger then your thumb. Perry's Baby Red is a bit bigger.

Parrots feather is nice. With a goldie, if you do a water Hyacynth, put the roots in a net type floater or the goldie will make a nice mess with the roots... carp seem to think they are play toy's and just tear up roots! sad.gif

A nice pot of mini cattails even.....

Bonnie has her lily's on sale, here's the url, at least you can see what the mini's look like. Go to the plants, then winter hardy and I think they are page two.

Thanks for all the excellent ideas everyone! Ill look around this weekend and see what I can find. Im thinking of putting river rock on the bottom. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good internal filter for this small of a pond? Once I get everything all set up, ill have to take a picture and post it for everyone to see!

It sounds really nice and Scott's plant ideas are good. You can buy internal filters that would suit a 15g or maybe consider a small cannister filter.

biggrin.gif good luck with it, i can't wait for pictures!,If your going to put 2 goldies
in one i would put small types and make sure you do more water changes
and have a good filter,
