I thought these buggers needed a male to reproduce. There is no way that a little 3 mm snail could mate with a 1 incher is there? Actually, I looked away for a minute and looked back and there was baby on a mission. I verified there was definitely one more little guy in there so I am almost certain it came from her. Too bad my moor likes to snack on these little guys. How big do they have to be before I can share them? I fear for their lives and I know they would love a nice pond.

What a sight that'd be! Baby snails crawling outta another snail. WEIRD. At least you don't have to deal with icky clutches with those guys, eh?

For u to share them, I dunno, once they're pea shaped would be a good shipping size..... let me know when you're gonna start sellin'... I'll take some! biggrin.gif

I'll do that. Definitely no icky clutches. laugh.gif Thank goodness!

They are pretty boring compared to my brig and she only has between 2 and 6 babies at a time. There were only 2 left from her original bunch. The mama will dig in the gravel and not move for literally days at a time. The babies are the same way. They just sit and sit on the glass. It's no wonder they get eaten. BUT, I have read all over that they are great for ponds and most tolerant of all snails of the lower temps. And they definitely do no touch the plants. smile.gif

wow.....that would be pretty awesome to see little snails crawling out of a bigger snail! woo!

They sound like trumpet snails, or some kind of live breeder.
If their trumpet snails you should wait until their about 1 inch before
selling them or giving them away smile.gif ,

One thing some people don't realize,is that Apple Snails are somewhat known to prey on other snail species. If you intend to breed them, you may want to keep them in another tank. wink.gif

I had no idea!! I thought 4 of them were gone from me being stupid and using a gravel siphon and my goldfish eating them. I bet they all met some horrible fate between me, my goldfish, and my brig. The poor guys. There are only 2 left. sad.gif I thought snails were only herbivorous. Well until i caught mine eating goldfish eggs, I thought that. I need to move the two survivors.
