just wondering...

would collecting rain water and putting it in tank be any good for the fish? blink.gif

I know one person who strictly uses rain water for his tanks. no problems.

I would say no. In places with high pollution, rain water is SO contaminated. It collects all the garbage out of the air on its way down, so you get stuff like acid rain. Even in areas without high pollution, rain water is still pretty iffy.

Rain water tends to be very soft, also. IT is, in a way, almost like distilled water, except that it does contain various materials - many of which are, as the others have said - not what you want.

Sorry - it is a good idea. I wish I could do that. My well water is awful! blink.gif

If it is possible, it would be a good idea, because our ponds and rivers come from the rain. But some places get acid rain, so i guess it depends on your situation.

People far from big cities could do it. There's too much pollution around here for my fish (and me stars.gif )... ohmy.gif
